Quick Fix : Necklace Organization

Hi lover! It’s been sooo long since I’ve done an organization post that I seriously missed them. This week I’ve been on a cleaning/organizing kick and I finally got around to working on my necklaces.

Here are all of my short statement necklaces that were just piled on top of each other on a tall dresser, which is the Alex 9 drawers from Ikea. I really wanted to organize this corner without it looking cluttered so I decided on buying a small acrylic necklace stand. I searched online but the ones I found were too pricey and my budget was just not having it. Finally, in a local store called Merchandise Mart, I was able to find this pretty stand for just $18. It came unassembled but only took 10 minutes to build and voila!

As you can see in this close-up, my necklaces fit perfectly and there is even a smaller rack in the back for bracelets. I plan to keep this small rack empty for now, that way this corner is exclusively for necklaces. 🙂

These last two necklaces are a bit heavier and luckily I had this tray from before (also purchased at Ikea) so I just placed them on top to add a final touch. Work Wears : Olive

Hi lover! Happy first day of October. 🙂 Yesterday I had an uncomfortable ear ache all day which was not fun, but after work I went to Target to buy a few things I needed. I spent about an hour just roaming the whole store and seeing all their adorable pumpkin and harvest themed décor. I usually skip many of those aisles but it is so cute to see just how much food was “Halloween” themed.

I wore this outfit to work last week and loved it so much that I knew I had to photograph it for my blog. The day I wore this, I actually ran into a sweet friend of mine that works in the same building and she was raving about the outfit too. This olive blazer has my favorite cut, since it is shorter in the back and fitted all around. H&M is a great place to find quality pieces… like this purse I’m wearing, I’ve had for over a year and the style is timeless.

Makeup Geek Duochrome Eyeshadows

Hi lover! Do any of you watch Dancing with the Stars? I’ve mentioned before on my blog how obsessed with it I am, and the feelings are still going strong lol! I think it is my favorite show on TV, but it is also the only show I watch that currently airs on TV. Last night I watched it with my mom and loved the dances. We thought some of the judges comments were a bit tough but that’s fun to watch too.

Another thing I’ve mentioned before on here is how much I love the makeup brand Makeup Geek. If you’ve never heard of it, the brand is based exclusively online through their store and was founded by Marlena who makes amazing beauty videos on YouTube. There are so many things I love about the brand and the products, but I’ll leave that for another post. Last week I purchased their new collection of duochrome eye shadows. All the shadows are supposed to reflect two different colors, depending on the lighting you are in. The one I am wearing in these pictures is called Phantom and it is a white base (in the first picture, it is top row, second one from the left) with violet reflects. I love the way purple tones look against my dark features. 🙂 All Makeup Geek shadows are the most pigmented I’ve ever worked with and they stay put all day long.

Also, in the first picture above, the shadows are in metal pans which I store in a Z-palette. Z-palettes are magnetized so you can store any shadow, blush, powder etc. that is in a magnetic pan. These palettes come in a variety of sizes so you can buy them depending on if you want them for travel or to store bigger/smaller pans.

Fringe Booties

Hi lover! This weekend was a bit of a crazy one for me. Friday was a lot of fun going out to celebrate my best friend’s birthday. Saturday my family had a huge garage sale (I say huge because we had so much stuff for sale!!) and unfortunately that day my dad was pretty sick, but the good news is that he is already doing much better. Yesterday I went to Church with Bobby and my mom and the Mass was beautiful, so spiritually fulfilling. All afternoon it was rainy and gloomy.. so that made it a bit challenging for shooting blog pictures, but I actually love how they turned out. 🙂

Bucket bags and fringe are huge for fall fashion. I can’t stop wearing these booties because they match with everything and my feet never get tired of them. Also, I haven’t stopped wearing this necklace since Saturday and it feels brand new to me. While I was at my family’s garage sale, I found this necklace tangled with a few others. I asked my sister to help me untangle them and to keep this one aside which was accidentally put for sale. My sister was the one who bought this precious necklace for me almost 10 years ago, BUT it had turned completely black. It was in terrible condition and thanks to my grandfather who cleaned it.. it now looks sparkly and brand new!!

Hello there lovers!!! Today is my best friend’s golden birthday! Yep she’s turning 25 on the 25th and tonight we are going to celebrate her…I can’t wait! Kelci and I met when we were about 15 years old, pretty much 10 years ago. I’m so grateful that thanks to one mutual friend, our paths crossed and this friendship blossomed. I truly feel like our souls were destined to find each other and become life long best friends. She inspires me to be a better person in so many ways, there aren’t enough words to thank her. 🙂

I wore this outfit to Church and then brunch last Sunday. Let’s talk about the shoes though… oh my gosh I’m in love!!!!! I had these on my wish list and Bobby bought them for me on my birthday. I think they may be my favorite pair of heels *insert heart eyes*. I hope they wear well and the quality holds up nicely.
