Hi there lover! It might be just me, but this weekend flew right passed me. I had lots of fun and right now I am craving a good day of loafing around, haha.

I wore this outfit to go to the movies with Bobby and have a late lunch. Pineapples are back as a fashion trend for spring/summer and there are found in a variety of different prints. I am on the hunt for possibly a grey tank with one large pineapple in the front. By the way, I bought these jeans about 3 weeks ago and they were on the sale rack at Loft for $20!!! It’s such a thrill for me to find versatile pieces for under $25.

Spring Time Casual

Hi lover! I’m so excited it’s finally Friday!! I’ve been stressing this whole week about normal life stuff, but I really, truly dislike the feeling of stress. I know no one would particularly like being stressed, but I make it an effort to avoid it. The only thing I can do is fight it off and let it go (almost there!). My weekend is jam packed with fun plans and events, so that has me feeling all sorts of happy.

This outfit is what I like to wear on the weekends (during the day), if I plan to be out and about. The hot weather is back in action here and I swear it blows my mind when I hear that the weather up North is still in the 40s!! Side note: I am loving this necklace! It is actually my moms’, but when I walked into her closet and saw it, I immediately asked if I could borrow it. Turquoise/aqua is my favorite color, so I was really drawn to it.

Work Wears : Peplum & Pink Soles

Hey hey lover! I’m back today with another outfit of what I wear to work. I am not sure if you already knew this about me, but I LOVE dressing up for work. A few years back, I heard the saying “envision yourself in the job you dream of, down to exactly what you would wear to work.” At the time, I wanted to work at a doctor’s office, so I pictured myself in cute scrubs. After about 2 years of doctors’ offices, I was totally over it! I wanted to dress up, wear heels, fitted dresses etc., and after picturing it long enough, I landed my first job at an attorney’s office. I promise, this is fun for me!

Moving onto the heels I am wearing. The year I worked at the first attorney’s office, I became slightly obsessed with buying shoes (hence why I have a series on here called ‘Love Shoes’). I am not sure how this came about, but I bought about 2 pairs a month. I was subscribed to a website – Shoedazzle and I scored these pink soled pumps for about $40 (shipping included). I admit they are not very comfortable and I even added a sole cushion on the inside. But I adore the pink soles!! Sadly the heels also peeled from a mistake I made: don’t drive with your heels on.

Best Tip for Long Lasting Eyeshadow

Hey lover! My all time favorite part of doing make up is applying eye shadow. When I first decided to branch out and buy make up, I was obsessed with eyeshadow palettes. I am still extremely drawn to them and whenever I see a new one is released, I have to check it out. To me, my face is a canvas and eyeshadows are the tools to paint a picture. As you can see, I really enjoy it!

While practicing to get better at applying shadow, I have found a very helpful tip: focus on your base. I use two great primers and it makes my shadow last ALL day! The quality of the shadows and the type of brushes you use can also help, but the primer is what really makes the biggest difference. I first apply MAC paint pot in the shade soft ochre, which comes as a creme consistency in a pot. With it, I always use a brush to apply a thin layer. Next, I use NARS Pro-Prime smudge proof eyeshadow base (full name), which comes in a tube and I use the wand to apply a thin layer. Afterwards, I apply a neutral, cream colored shadow to set the primers in place. Once the base is done, I can apply all the colors I’d like and they last all day without creasing.

If I plan to use a pressed or loose pigment (a more color-intense version of a regular shadow) I will put an added base on top of the 2 primers. I hope this tip helps you! Do you have a favorite eye shadow primer?

Easter Dress

Hi there lover! Ah, the Monday after a 3 day weekend… always a little rough for me to get back into the routine. I had a lovely, relaxing weekend though, so for that I am very grateful. I wore this beautiful swing dress for Easter mass yesterday. The shape and sleeves of the dress remind me of something vintage. The material is so light and airy, perfect for our hot Sunday, and this has quickly become a favorite summer dress of mine.

As for my new purse {insert heart-eye emoji/face here}! Bobby was incredibly sweet and bought this for me as a gift for our 5 year anniversary {thank you again chito}. I love everything about this bag. It has great pockets so I can keep all my things organized and it has SO much space. If I owned a small laptop, it could totally fit in here. I really wanted this cognac color, because I am convinced it matches with everything. The purse comes in a bunch of other fun colors too!
