Lovers!!!! I moved. I actually moved over a month ago, on April 1 {2017}. I no longer live in my precious little one bedroom apartment. The picture above is from the day I gave the keys back to my landlord, once the apartment was empty. My hair was a disaster and I looked exhausted but my appearance wasn’t a concern of mine haha! I can’t believe how fast time has passed since I moved. Let’s recap a bit…
For my 24th birthday I gifted myself, what I dreamed of, as the perfect little apartment. From the first time my best friend Kelci came over, she named it the “princess palace”. Picture all white/neutral furniture combined with the most girly decorations. Here is a post on some home decor for Valentine’s day and Here is a post on my first Christmas tree. Those posts can give you an idea of what my style was like. I had a spacious walk in closet which I filmed a closet tour, so I promise to share it with you. I never had a TV in my bedroom because I’m not a fan of falling asleep with the TV on and I’ve never really watched a lot of TV. I had a bathtub for unlimited relaxing baths which was *heavenly*. Pretty much every inch of that apartment was a great representation of me. I loved the time I got to live there. It was my first time living alone and I was able to find myself and figure out exactly what I want in life. I felt myself grow in a way that’s hard to describe but I feel stronger and like I’ve become the woman I meant to be. 🙂
I leased the apartment for a year and then extended my lease an extra six months. By the end of the lease, my boyfriend and I decided to move in together (!!!). Now the funny thing about that is, as much as I always love to plan my life, this was really unplanned. It just felt organic to me, like it was naturally the next step for us. So now I live in a house with my boyfriend! 🙂
Preparing for the move was something I majorly failed at and I take full responsibility for. My mother tried to warn me that I should prepare more for the move. But I was stubborn and refused to pack things which was the worst decision! So the day before the move, I was freaking out and called my mom to come over and help me pack. It was chaotic but she is my very own angel and helped me get through it. The week of the move was super stressful, but we survived and I learned exactly what not to do for next time lol.
Even though its been some time since the move, I still have a few boxes to unpack. We are missing furniture so I’m waiting to unpack those boxes until we buy the new pieces. Living in a house is SO different than an apartment (duh lol) but as much as I thought I would miss my apartment.. I really haven’t. It’s been an adjustment, but really any life change is an adjustment. I plan to share bits of the house in the future, through organizational posts. Thank you for stopping by!!
